Over 10 years of hands-on tutoring, complete command of the subject, and a habit of keeping herself current.

Teaching philosophy

I believe rigour is what guarantees quality in education. What a teacher expects and how well they teach feed each other. When I work through a problem with a student, I focus on strategy rather than the answer, and I say my thinking out loud — so they have a model for how that kind of knowledge is built.

Teaching to the individual

Students at different stages need different things. I choose material and method with those differences firmly in mind, so every student develops properly rather than partially.

About this course
😊 The maths course is taught live — teacher and students in the same room at the same time. Students print the worksheet beforehand; in class the teacher works through every question and talks with the students. Anyone who is lost can ask on the spot, so nothing goes past them.

😊 This is not just any teacher. Teacher Atarah is the most patient maths teacher we have, with her own way of explaining things clearly, so students pick it up fast and stop being afraid of not understanding. If someone is still lost after an explanation, she will happily go through it again in more detail with more examples. Children in her class ask questions freely — nobody freezes.

😊 Parents tell us maths was the subject their child liked least. Step by step through the online class, a child who used to resist it now looks forward to the live session every week. Everyone is happier for it.
